Mandatory Reporting in the Church

Arizona law requires certain people, including Sunday School teachers and others working with children and youth in the church, regardless of whether they are financially compensated, to report suspected abuse (ARS ยง13-3620.A). You may be a child’s only advocate at the time you report the possibility of abuse or neglect. Children often tell a person with whom they feel safe about abuse or neglect.
