Our monthly meetings include an opportunity to meet and fellowship with other safety and security ministry volunteers, a training session on a different topic each month, and time to share updates and questions about church safety.
Self-defense training, including firearms training, teaches you how and when to use different levels of force, ranging from verbally de-escalating an argument to shooting an armed attacker threatening someone’s life. However, it usually doesn’t delve deeply into what happens after you are involved in a use of force. This session is designed to fill some of those gaps by providing you with information about what to expect from the time the police arrive through the subsequent investigation and court proceedings.

Survival Stress and Nervous System Response
Our nervous systems responses to stress can surprise us when our sympathetic nervous system is triggered. Learn about the way our autonomic nervous system is designed and its impact on performance in our response to emergency and life threatening situations. Recognizing normal nervous system responses during a crisis will enable optimum performance whether driving a car or engaging in a physical confrontation.

This six-hour course is designed to educate the public on how they can mitigate the loss of life if they find themselves in a violent intruder incident. The goal of I LIVED training is for participants to recognize the need for immediate response to these types of incidents, recognize ways they may intervene, and empower them to make a difference in the event.
The purpose of the STOP THE BLEED® campaign is to make our nation more resilient by better preparing the public to save lives if people nearby are severely bleeding. This preparation is being done by raising awareness and teaching people how to learn three quick actions to control serious bleeding.
Survival Mindset
Developing a survival mindset is the most crucial aspect of preparedness regardless of the type of incident you are facing. The belief that you are going to protect yourself, your family or others and survive the encounter is something you can control no matter what type of situation you encounter. We can’t control what the attacker is bringing to an incident, but we can control our mindset.
Verbal De-Escalation
Verbal De-escalation techniques are used when a person is becoming disruptive in an inappropriate location and time. This could be during a church service, in a classroom, an office or other non-church-related locations.
You will learn how to identify warning signs that can lead to a crisis incident. Assess risk and use verbal techniques to defuse situations before they become violent. Use disengagement skills to avoid or minimize injury and keep yourself, your congregation and others safe.
Take your tactical self-defense training to the next level and learn to protect yourself in low-light situations.
Most handgun training occurs during daylight, however, it is well documented that many shootings occur under low-light conditions. So why not train for the most probable and realistic real-world scenario? Want to see what it looks like?
