Situational Awareness for Teams Part One

This course builds on the introduction to situational awareness course. The course will focus on teaching you ways you can increase your attention to people, location features, and problems you may need to address. We will examine body language, crowd characteristics, and atmospherics.

Required Equipment:

Semi-automatic pistol in .38 special, 9mm, 357 Sig, .40 S&W, .45 ACP or .45 GAP
Minimum trigger pull to be no less than four pounds (more is acceptable, less is not)
Sturdy strong side holster
Sturdy belt (double thick 1.75” is recommended)
Three magazines minimum (more are better)
Magazine pouch with a minimum capacity to hold two or more magazines securely
Minimum of 200-rounds of practice ammunition that match your pistols caliber
Eye protection (safety rated sunglasses if it is sunny and clear safety rated glasses if it is not sunny)
Hearing protection (plugs and electronic muffs combined is recommended)
Brimmed hat
Long sleeve shirt that closes at the top to keep hot ejected shell casings out
Long pants (cargo style is best to keep loose ammunition in to top off magazines between stages)
Closed toe shoes
Lots of water
Lunch
Sunscreen

Intermediate Defensive Handgun Vehicles & Parking Lots (October 10, 2026)

This course requires the completion of Intermediate Handgun prior to participation.

Course Objectives:

-Participants will continue to develop and demonstrate firearm safety while integrating movement and practicing the firearms safety rules.

-Participants will understand and demonstrate after action responses including problem solving, awareness, and potential need for self care.

-Participants will understand the importance of both contact and cover roles and differentiate between them.

-Participants will work with a partner to safely approach and communicate with a vehicle’s occupants.

-Participants will respond to a simulated deadly force assault by occupants of a vehicle.

-Participants will demonstrate appropriate techniques when approaching and moving around vehicles in a parking lot.

Emergency First Aid Fundamentals and Stop-the-Bleed (October 17, 2026)

Our Emergency First Aid Fundamentals class teaches you basic first aid and lifesaving techniques to be used in the event of a medical emergency.

The purpose of the STOP THE BLEED^® campaign is to make our nation more resilient by better preparing the public to save lives if people nearby are severely bleeding. This preparation is being done by raising awareness and teaching people how to learn three quick actions to control serious bleeding.

You will learn how to properly assess a patient and how to deal with significant issues such as compromised airway, broken bones, burns, heart attacks, seizures, strokes, and more. This course also includes CPR and AED use.

Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Spray & Introduction to Impact Weapon Training (October 23, 2026)

This course focuses on the legalities, technicalities, and tactics of Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) employment. Participants will gain an understanding of the use of OC within the spectrum of physical force. The technical specifications of OC Spray will be explored with the goal on educating participants with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions when selecting OC Spray for their own use. Participants will understand and demonstrate the proper employment of OC Spray.

Introduction to impact weapons is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the moral, ethical, and legal aspects of impact weapon use. Fundamentals of impact weapon deployment, stances, grips, strikes, defensive techniques and retention techniques are taught.

This course includes hands on training and repetition. Participants should wear comfortable clothing with closed toed shoes.

Most handgun training occurs during daylight, however, it is well documented that many shootings occur under low-light conditions. So why not train for the most probable and realistic real-world scenario? Want to see what it looks like?
